shot types

Photography

Today in photography we learnt about the rule of thirds. This is basically how to frame the most important thing in the photo on the first or second third of the photo. We were told to go out and get: a wide shot, mid shot, mid close up , close and a extreme close up. Then to add the grid for the rule of 3 using photoshop.

Wide Shot

this shot I tried to use the fencing to frame the picture of the building, however as im not a big photographer and am unfamiliar with the cameras, my focus is a little off.

Mid shot

this is a mid shot. A mid shot shows from the waist up. This shot came about by somebody walking through my shot. Ive put the picture here on the grid because it lines up with his chin on the horizontal and his eye on the vertical.
mid close up

this is a mid close up, it shows from the chest up. I placed it here because the grid goes perfectly through his face. I didn’t have to move this image, because im generally sweet.

Close up
Description: Macintosh HD:Users:student:Desktop:pillow close up.jpg
this is a close up. It isn’t a particularly nice shot. But shows were somebody had been living and sleeping rough. The grid is placed on the pillow and the duvet to show and emphasise that somebody had been sleeping here.

Extreme close up

this is a extreme close up. The focus and grid are on the berries obviously because they’re the main and only thing of any beauty in this shot.
